Thai Recipe For Pad Thai Noodles

The Thai dish Pad Thai is comprised of stir fried rice noodles in a creamy sauce with a combination of prawns, chicken or tofu. To make it you will need to collect the following shopping list.

Recipe ingredients: 4 Cups Of Rice Noodles (Soaked In Water For 3 Minutes), Raw Prawns Shelled, 1 Cup of bean sprouts, 1 Egg, 1 finely chopped spring onion, 1 Tablespoon of chopped shallots, 1 Tablespoon of chopped garlic, 1 Tablespoon of chilli flakes, 2 Tablespoons of ground roasted peanuts, 2 Tablespoons of sugar, 1 Tablespoon of fish sauce, 4 Tablespoons Of Tamarind Juice, ½ Cup Of Water, 2 Tablespoons Of Fresh Cooking Oil.

Fish sauce is an essential ingredient in a number of curries. It is made from fermented fish but you will be able to pick some up easily enough in your local supermarket.

Part 1: Once you have all of your ingredients at the ready start by frying the garlic and the shallots in a tablespoon of oil under a medium heat. Then add in the tamarind juice, fish sauce, water and sugar to the mix. Bring to the boil until it thickens into a sauce. Once you have done this take the sauce off the heat and carry on to part two.

Part 2: Next fire up your wok, and add the remaining oil to it over a medium heat. Fry the prawns add the egg and stir. Then add the noodles and stir until they are tender.

Part 3: Add in the sauce you made in part 1 plus the tablespoon of ground up peanuts, spring onions and bean sprouts. Fry and stir for one minute and you're done. You can garnish your meal with ground peanuts, chilli flakes and some lemon juice.
